For many families, the hardest part of getting support is not a lack of services, it is not knowing which service is the right one, how to access it, or how the different parts are meant to fit together. Service navigation exists to close that gap.

What service navigation actually involves

Service navigation is practical, hands-on support to help someone understand their options, work out what they are eligible for, prepare the right information, and connect with the right provider. It is less about giving advice and more about reducing the confusion and legwork that comes with dealing with multiple services at once.

Why families need it

What good service navigation looks like

Good service navigation is transparent about what a person or family can expect, does not pressure anyone toward a particular provider, and is honest when something is outside its scope. It should leave a family with a clearer plan and a stronger understanding of their own situation, not just a referral handed off with no follow-up.

How Nhanya Foundation approaches this

Nhanya Foundation provides advocacy and service navigation support, helping people understand their options, gather relevant information, and connect with appropriate providers, including housing, allied health, and community supports. Nhanya Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, and our role is to help people access the right support, not to be the only option on the table.

If you or someone you support needs help making sense of the services available, contact us to discuss your situation, or submit a referral.
