Purpose-led disability support, including Support Coordination, Allied Health Therapy Services and Capacity Building Programs.
Nhanya Foundation provides disability support services that help people live with dignity, safety, choice and greater independence. Our work is practical, respectful and focused on real outcomes — helping people understand their options, connect with suitable supports, build everyday skills and participate more confidently in community life.
As a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity, our disability services are part of our broader charitable purpose. Any proceeds from our services are directed back into charitable activities and community benefit, helping us continue supporting people experiencing hardship, instability, disadvantage and isolation.
We do not try to provide every service under one umbrella. Our disability services are intentionally focused on four key areas: Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination, Allied Health Therapy Services, and Capacity Building and Group Programs. This helps us maintain transparency, reduce conflicts of interest, and support people to make informed choices about the services and providers that best suit their needs.
Disability support is not only about services. It is about helping people feel included, respected and able to take part in everyday life.
Nhanya Foundation works alongside people with disability, families, carers and support networks to create practical pathways towards stability, wellbeing and independence. We understand that people may also be dealing with housing stress, trauma, mental health concerns, family pressure, service gaps, cultural barriers or difficulty navigating complex systems.
Our role is to stay steady, listen carefully and help bring the right supports together.
Nhanya Foundation welcomes people from all backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
We recognise that culture, language, migration history, family expectations and community connection can shape how people understand disability and access support. We take the time to explain options clearly, work respectfully with families and referrers, and support people in a way that feels safe, practical and culturally appropriate.
Our aim is to make disability support easier to understand and easier to access — especially for people who may otherwise feel overlooked, isolated or unsure where to begin.
Our Support Coordination service helps people understand their supports, connect with suitable providers and build confidence to manage services over time.
We assist with setting up supports, coordinating communication, preparing for changes, and making sure services are working towards the person’s goals. The focus is not on taking control away from the person. It is about strengthening choice, confidence and independence.
Specialist Support Coordination is for people who need a higher level of support because their circumstances are complex, high-risk or difficult to stabilise. We can support people experiencing trauma, psychosocial disability, mental health concerns, housing instability, justice system involvement, family breakdown, service failure, hospital discharge issues or multiple systems being involved at once. Our role is to reduce confusion, improve
communication between services, respond to barriers and help create a more stable support environment.
Our Allied Health Therapy Services support people to build skills, improve daily functioning and strengthen wellbeing. We provide access to Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology and Behaviour Support. Our therapy approach is practical and person-centred, with a focus on everyday life, communication, mobility, emotional wellbeing, behaviour support and capacity building.
Our Capacity Building and Group Programs help people build confidence, develop everyday skills and strengthen community connection.
Programs may include social connection, communication skills, emotional regulation, digital skills, life skills, independence-building, community participation and transition-to-adulthood support. These programs are designed to reduce isolation and create safe, supportive opportunities for people to learn, connect and grow.
Nhanya means persistence. That is how we approach disability support.
We understand that meaningful progress takes time. People may need practical help, repeated guidance, patient explanation and steady support before things start to feel manageable. Our team works with purpose and care, focusing on what will make a real difference in the person’s daily life.
Nhanya Foundation is not-for-profit and charity-led. We are guided by community benefit, not private profit. We only provide selected services that align with our charitable purpose, and we do not operate as a broad direct care provider trying to capture every part of a person’s support network.
This helps us keep our role clearer and more transparent. Our focus remains on dignity, choice, cultural respect, practical outcomes and long-term stability.
If you are looking for disability support, Support Coordination, Specialist Support Coordination, Allied Health Therapy Services or group-based programs, Nhanya Foundation can help you understand the next step.
